Audi unveils the Nuvolari

  • A successor to the Audi R8 has been long-rumored, but Audi has now unveiled the hybrid Nuvolari hypercar sitting in an entirely different price segment

  • 987 horsepower from a four liter flat-plane crank twin-turbo charged V8

  • Paired with three Yasa axial flow e-motors, two at the front axle and one between the engine and the transversely mounted eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the powertrain provides a 2.6 second 0-60 time and 217 mph top speed

  • Continues a success collaboration within the Volkswagen group; like the Audi R8 based on the Huracan platform, the Nuvolari is based on the Lamborghini Temerario and matches the Concept C design language Audi revealed last fall

  • Production run is unfortunately limited to 499 examples

  • Pricing is also unfortunately expected to come in around the $600,000+ range
