As recently as May 2025, company sources confirmed gas 718 production would end in the coming model year
Porsche is now reversing course and reverse engineering the EV “PPE Sport” chassis to accommodate a mid-mounted ICE powertrain
While some high end ICE 718 models had been hinted at back in September, they focused on the existing, high-performance, models (e.g. GT4RS) while this latest rumor indicates new ICE models will be present throughout the lineup
