Polestar exits U.S. market

  • Polestar is exiting the the United States market following a failure to obtain an exemption to a U.S. Commerce Department ban on selling connected vehicles with ownership ties to China or Russia

  • Polestar is owned by Chinese conglomerate Geely

  • Certain models are selling at $25,000 discounts as inventory is wound down

  • The automaker’s 32 dealer network is now in a state of confusion with owners and dealers unsure about continuing operations or service support

  • There is little impact on the GT community since the Polestar 1, one of the best looking plug-in hybrids ever made, was discontinued in 2022
