Onslaught of new sports cars coming from Toyota, Lexus

  • Best Car Magazine, considered one of the most credible automative magazines in Japan, has outlined new performance products coming from Toyota and Lexus

  • There is no new information on the Toyota GR GT or the battery electric Lexus LFA but the GR GT should arrive at select dealers in late 2027

  • A new mid-engined Celica is expected by 2029

  • A new Supra designed and manufactured by Toyota is being developed to slot in below the GR GT in the lineup debuting in late 2027

  • A new GR86, also developed in-house, is expected with a naturally aspirated version of a newly developed Toyota inline-four cycler engine as a 2029 model

  • Perhaps most surprisingly, Lexus is expected to release a LC/RC replacement coupe slotting in below the GR GT around 2028
