Civic Type-R powered Honda Prelude likely

  • We’re increasingly confident that the Prelude platform will receive the Civic Type-R’s powertrain

  • Honda released two concepts at the 2026 Tokyo Auto, a Civic Type-R HRC and Prelude HRC

  • The upgrades are mainly aerodynamic with some suspension tuning, sources indicate powertrain upgrades will come to both in the next two years

  • Type-R will receive tweaks to the powertrain around the same time the Prelude will receive Type-R based power although it’s possible it will be branded as the Integra coupe
