Mazda rotary developments expected in 2026

  • In 2023 Mazda revealed the Iconic SP concept which featured a conceptional twin-rotary system among other EV focused powertrains

  • Mazda hasn’t produced a rotary-powered model since 2012 but has implemented a small rotary range-extender in the MX-30 R-EV

  • Emissions regulations have been the limiting factor on brining rotary back so it’s possible any rotary powered models would be targeted at markets in the United States and Japan
